POPKA 2 – The first site of the project will soon be ready for the start of the engineering work!

In spring 2025, the Finnish Game Foundation was awarded JTF funding for the POPKA2 project to restore three decommissioned peatland areas in Muhos, Siikalatva and Kuusamo. POPKA 2 – project is moving forward!

POPKA 2, the parallel project to the POPKA project launched in the summer of 2024, got off to a flying start with one of the three sites already having a wetland plan ready for use. The wetland plan for Kapustasuo in Kuusamo enabled the Foundation to procure contractors for the site and work on the site is expected to start in the autumn between September and November.
