The Finnish Game Foundation’s JTF project expands with three new projects!

|

In summer 2024, the Finnish Game Foundation was awarded JTF funding for the restoration of five different peat production areas in North Ostrobothnia and Kainuu within the framework of the POPKA project during 2024-2026. The Foundation applied for a supplement to the project package under the name of the POPKA2 project at the end of 2024.

The Finnish Game Foundation has launched the POPKA2 project, which expands the project by three sites in North Ostrobothnia: Kapustasuo in Kuusamo, Pehkeensuo in Muhos and Valkianeva in Siikalatva, alongside the POPKA project, which restores 5 different peat production areas. With the positive funding decision, these three sites will expand the Foundation’s project portfolio by 55 hectares, bringing the total open water area of the JTF project portfolio to approximately 130 hectares.
