Rocky outcrop, Kajaani
As part of the restoration project, the water level of the Kajaani rocky estuary will be raised to cover the peat soil and create suitable breeding habitat for waterfowl.

In Kivisuo, Kajaani, there is a decommissioned peat production area on a property owned by the S-Pank Forest Fund. The area will be restored as part of the Finnish Game Management Foundation’s POPKA project, and an estimated 9 hectares of open water wetland will be created.
The Kivisuo wetland is designed by the Finnish Game Centre’s SOTKA wetlands project, and the engineering and procurement of the area is coordinated by the Finnish Game Management Foundation, mainly with JTF funding.
