Heikinsuo, Rautavaara
Heikinsuo is a disused peat production area in Rautavaara, North Savo. Heikinsuo was financed with funding from the British hunting organisation BASC.

The restoration work in Heikinsuo is funded by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation. The Finnish Game Centre’s SOTKA-Kosteikot project is responsible for the restoration planning of the area, while the Finnish Game Management Foundation is responsible for tendering for the engineering works. The area is one of three sites to be implemented under a BASC Major Grant in 2023. The site was completed in late 2024.
Part of Heikinsuo has been converted to agricultural use, and about 11 hectares were dammed to create a wetland. The wetland was drained from a peripheral stream in a forested catchment area.
