The Saviharju wetland in Valkeakoski is a wetland site designed and implemented by SOTKA wetlands in the area of the power line on a slope where a clear-water stream flows. The wetland
is bordered by a recreational trail, wet depressions and lush vegetation. The catchment area of the Saviharju wetland is approx. 33 hectares, and the estimated open water area of the wetland is slightly less than one hectare.
The Saviharju wetland received through the Finnish Game Management Foundation a private collection by Veera Kivistö of approx. A donation of €400 to purchase a complete set of seeds for the wetland from Niittysiemene, to be sown on the embankments and their wet edges.
